Learning Beyond the classroom

At Everly East Academy, we believe that education extends far beyond the classroom walls. While academic progress is important, some of the most significant learning takes place through new experiences, real-world opportunities and meaningful connections with the wider community.

Every child deserves the chance to discover what they enjoy, what they are good at and what inspires them. However, young people cannot develop passions, talents or aspirations if they are never given opportunities to explore them. This belief sits at the heart of our partnership programme.

Through carefully selected partnerships, we provide pupils with a wide range of experiences that help them build confidence, develop practical skills, improve wellbeing and discover interests that may shape their future. For many of our pupils, simply trying something new, visiting an unfamiliar place or engaging with different people can be a significant achievement and an important step in their personal development.

Our partnerships are designed to complement our curriculum, support EHCP outcomes and bring our values of Care, Growth and Aspiration to life.

BRIO Leisure Northwich

Weekly Swimming Programme

Through our partnership with BRIO Leisure, pupils access structured swimming lessons on a rotational basis throughout the academic year.

Swimming develops far more than physical fitness. Lessons support confidence, perseverance, water safety, resilience and personal achievement. For many pupils, overcoming worries about entering the pool or participating in lessons can be as significant as learning to swim itself.

Swimming also provides valuable sensory benefits for many of our pupils. The calming properties of water can help support emotional regulation, reduce anxiety and improve wellbeing, while the resistance of the water helps develop body awareness, coordination and confidence in a safe and supportive environment.

Mutant School of DJs

Modern Music and Creative Arts

Through our partnership with Max Mutant and the Mutant School of DJs, pupils access specialist DJ workshops as part of our enriched music curriculum.

This innovative programme allows pupils to explore music production, mixing techniques, rhythm, creativity and performance skills using industry-standard equipment.

The sessions are particularly effective in engaging pupils who may not traditionally connect with classroom-based music lessons, enabling them to express themselves creatively while building confidence and self-esteem.

 

Venture Wood at Petty Pool

Outdoor Learning and Woodland Experiences

Pupils attend weekly outdoor learning sessions at Venture Wood, where they engage in woodland and nature-based activities designed to develop confidence, wellbeing and practical skills.

Outdoor learning provides opportunities for pupils to:
- Develop resilience and problem-solving skills
- Work collaboratively with others
- Build confidence through achievable challenges
- Connect with nature and improve wellbeing
- Learn practical outdoor and environmental skills

These experiences offer valuable opportunities for personal growth in a supportive and engaging environment.

NDOORZ Northwich

Physical Education, Wellbeing and Active Learning

Our partnership with NDOORZ Northwich provides access to a high-quality indoor football and activity facility which acts as an extension of our own school environment.

The venue can be used for:

  • Physical Education lessons
  • Team sports and physical activity
  • Sensory circuits
  • Structured intervention sessions
  • Breakout and wellbeing activities
  • Social development opportunities

Having access to this specialist facility allows pupils to benefit from additional space and resources that support both their physical development and emotional wellbeing.
