Training & Certification

Kobe is currently undertaking his development as a support dog, with a focus on safe interactions, emotional regulation, positive relationships and responding calmly to a variety of situations.

Our Support Dog in Training badge identifies Kobe's current training status. It does not represent full certification or independent accreditation.

Risk Assessment & Safeguarding

Kobe's involvement in school is supported by appropriate risk assessment procedures, safeguarding considerations and clear expectations around safe interactions.

These arrangements consider pupils' individual needs, allergies, sensory sensitivities, personal boundaries and Kobe's own welfare.

Constant Supervision

Kobe is never left unsupervised with pupils. All interactions are carefully managed by designated members of staff to ensure a safe, positive and supportive experience for everyone.

His training, behaviour and wellbeing are continually monitored, with his involvement adapted according to the needs of our pupils and Kobe himself.

A Safe, Supportive & Therapeutic Approach

Kobe's presence forms part of our wider commitment to creating a nurturing, relational and regulation-focused school environment.

We recognise that the benefits of animal-assisted support must always be balanced with robust safeguarding, appropriate supervision and responsible animal welfare.
